Service Procedure
Assess the situation – Identify hazard type (chemical, biological, debris, bodily fluid).Secure the area – Restrict access, post warning signage.Equip PPE – Gloves, mask, goggles, and apron; respirator if fumes present.Contain spill/debris – Use absorbent pads or barriers to prevent spread.Neutralize/collect – Apply appropriate neutralizer or cleaner for material type.Dispose of waste – Bag and label according to WHMIS disposal procedures.Sanitize surface – Disinfect using approved chemical; ensure dwell time is respected.Ventilate and inspect – Allow area to dry and ensure air quality is normal before reopening.Report incident – Log in safety sheet and notify supervisor.
